A Word from our Founder

I have lived long enough to have learned a thing or two from a vast variety of experiences. My walk has led me through both good and bad times, but mostly good. Along the way, God has more than provided for me. And when I add up the whole of what I've lived, I find much to be grateful for.

But one day, not long ago, I experienced a truly life-changing episode. I was serving as a volunteer in a one-day mission to Baja California. It was Dia de los Niños, "Childrens' Day" in Mexico.  We had taken shoes to needy children at an orphanage. That is when I took the time to look - really look - into the face of a young boy to whom I had just given a pair of shoes. Those grimy feet, the distended stomach, and most of all, the open, trusting eyes just wrenched my heart. It was God's way of teaching me what success really means.

Lesson learned...

This was not just the best day of the year for this child, but the best day of his young life. And all it took was a pair of shoes, loving hands to wash his feet, a hot, nutritious meal, and the love of a stranger filled with the Grace of God.

Now that is "Winning!" And that is how Hilarious Givers was born.

And today...

Through the generosity of corporate sponsors, tireless Christian volunteers, and the seizing of God-given opportunities, we find ourselves with a virtually limitless supply of food and other needed items. The food nourishes hungry children living on our national doorstep. The other supplies such as beds, clothing, and shoes help meet basic needs of thousands of needy children  And as we give cheerfully, we proclaim the Grace and Glory of Jesus Christ.

As we continue on this walk, our intent is to transform lives. I hope you join us!
