We go through life seeking happiness. We are often disappointed in that search; perhaps we are searching in the wrong places. Happiness is not found at the mall or on the new car lot. Buying a beautiful home or dressing the kids in the latest style does not bring lasting happiness. All these material things are good, and we are thankful for the comforts we enjoy. But to find joy . . ..
One way to add joy to your life – right now, today – is to seek out ‘the least among us’ and meet some need. And we don’t have to go to some far corner of the earth; there are truly needy kids right here.
No great sacrifice is needed. A few hours volunteering, a few dollars, a donation of needed food, a prayer. Any or all of these will help us find joy in our lives.
